Argument and Program

Bourdieu and Passeron's work on education has largely contributed to the international reputation of these authors and to the dissemination of a sociology of relations of domination that is highly empirically equipped. But how were books like Les Héritiers and La reproduction more specifically disseminated? In which countries and according to which logics of reception were these books discovered and reappropriated? What were the exchanges between researchers and teams? How have the different national scientific contexts acted as filters for the international circulation of French sociology of education from the late 1960s to the present? Following the workshop of January 22, we will address these questions based on the cases of the United Kingdom, Brazil and the United States.
